A Unique Dining Experience Combined with Art
The Gallery Café Gort, located in the historic market town of Gort, County Galway, is a café, restaurant and art gallery in a restored building that dates from 1820. Experience local flavours through a pleasing variety of food and art.
Established in 2005 by artist and designer Sarah Harty the Gallery Café Gort has always celebrated the locality through thoughtfully created food and art.
From early morning to late in the evening, skilled chefs prepare pastries, brunch, lunch and an exciting dinner menu that changes every two weeks.
Which is designed and cooked by our wonderful head chef Hannah O’Donnell.
A Fusion of Cuisine and Art
Pizzas are also a speciality, cooked in a stone oven. Local ingredients are always featured and dressed deliciously different.
The Gallery Café Gort is located in a restored building, exposing the original stone arch in front with a natural well in the basement.
The Art Deco interior design takes inspiration from the natural beauty of the building. Seating at the front of the café looks out onto the bustling market square.
The walls of the café are adorned with artworks by talented artists from around Ireland. The exhibition is renewed every four to six weeks and all works can be purchased from the café.
